I became a School Resource Officer because I felt like the opportunity to be an SRO came open for a reason. After praying I knew I was supposed to take the position. Protecting students and staff is a huge responsibility. I want to keep everyone safe and help them thrive. The most rewarding part of being a School Resource Officer is building relationships with students. I want students and staff to know I’m a safe person they can come to in a time of need. My favorite part of being a School Resource Officer when I make a meaningful connection with my students and staff. I want them to feel comfortable confiding in me as an officer and as a friend. Of course, I also really like getting hugs from the kiddos! It's hard to have a bad day at Brownstown Elementary School!

I became a School Resource Officer because I believe that it is important to protect and educate our youth as they are the greatest assets in our community. I believe that having a positive impact on them now will also bridge the gap between our youth and law enforcement. The most rewarding part of being a School Resource Officer is is being part of a team along with teachers and staff that create a positive change for our youth. My favorite part of being a School Resource Officer is being involved in school activities with the students. I also enjoy being able to socialize with them, whether it is in the classroom, lunchroom, or hallway.
